Whipped Foot Butter DIY Recipe

Whoa, this is so much more than a foot cream!

I made this foot cream with the intention of something to soothe and soften severely dry and cracked feet. And it does do that. But it also makes a great icy hot/bengay sort of cream.

It makes total sense given the menthol that is in the recipe and with the addition of Cypress and Pine it really shines as a balm for sore and achy muscles.

Recipe

2.0oz Shea Butter

1.2oz Cocoa Butter

0.37oz Menthol Crystals

20 drops Rosemary Essential Oil

10 drops Pine Essential Oil

10 drops Cypress Essential Oil

10 drops Lavender Essential Oil

10 drops Tea Tree

  1. Measure out your menthol crystals and set aside.
  2. Measure and gently melt your shea butter and cocoa butter.
  3. Once melted gently stir in your menthol crystals. (Keep your face away from the pot as you stir. The menthol can be quite potent at this potent and potentially sting your eyes.
  4. Once slightly cooled add your essential oils. Stir well.
  5. Set aside until mixture is slightly solid  (can put in the fridge). Once slightly solid you can whip with a hand held mixture and achieve a smooth buttery texture.
  6. Put in a clean and dry jar with a tight fitting lid. And label. Trust me label it.

The Quick and Easy

As a muscle rub this is really good on tight muscles and aches and pains like arthritis or stiff necks. Especially under a heating pad.

As a foot cream, try the following. Exfoliate and clean your feet. Apply the foot butter and then take a pair of socks dedicated to the job of getting greasy and put them on over your buttered feet. Do this a couple nights in a row and you will have happy feet.

The Way of Royalty

This method of using the foot butter takes it up notch and requires a little preparation, but you will be so glad you did.

You will need;

A candle

Soft music of your choice

A tub, a large pot, or foot tub

A towel

Your dedicated socks

A decadent beverage (wine and herbal tea are the preferred beverages of Royalty)

Clean your feet. Fill your container with very warm water. Light the candle. Turn on the music and turn off the light. Sit down and rub the butter into your feet. Slip your feet into your hot water while you sit back and sip your beverage in the candle light listening to soft music. Let your mind wander, take some deep breaths, and enjoy the moment.

You know the rest. After drying your feet, you can add more foot butter to them if needed and slip them into the dedicated socks.

This little ritual only takes 20min. You can spare twenty minutes for yourself and your feet, right?
